Trade approvals
A Family Head or a portfolio's own login can add, change or delete trades dated up to 3 days back. Anything older becomes a request here, and is applied only when the firm approves it. This keeps old figures, and the gains already reported, from changing without the firm knowing.
If you raised a request
- When you save a trade older than 3 days, it is not saved. You see a message and are taken to Trades > Approvals.
- Your request shows as Waiting. You can Withdraw it while it waits.
- Once your firm approves it, the trade is saved as if you had entered it. If they reject it, nothing changes.
The same applies to changing or deleting a trade dated more than 3 days back, and to moving a recent trade to an older date. While a request waits, that trade can't be changed again.
If you approve requests (firm staff)
- Open Trades > Approvals. The Trades page also shows a box when something is waiting.
- Each request shows the trade asked for and, for a change, the trade as it is now, crossed out.
- Add a note if you like, then Approve or Reject.
Approving saves the trade through the normal checks again. If a check fails, for example the portfolio has been deactivated, nothing changes and the request stays waiting.
- "This trade has a request waiting"
- Withdraw the earlier request, or wait for it to be decided, then make the change.
- Approved, but the trade isn't there
- Look at the request's status: a failed check leaves it waiting, with the reason.
