Reset portfolio

Where in the app
Portfolio page > Reset portfolio
Who can use it
  • Firms (Firm Admin)

Use this when a portfolio's trades are badly mixed up and it is quicker to upload them again from the start. It takes out every trade, dividend / income and F&O trade of the portfolio. You can undo it until new trades are entered.

Reset a portfolio

  1. Open the portfolio page and scroll to the Reset portfolio box at the bottom.
  2. Click Reset portfolio. The box shows what will be taken out: trades with their date range, income, F&O trades and any pending approval requests.
  3. Choose the options. Both are on by default: also clear the portfolio's open upload errors, and also remove its custom corporate actions.
  4. Type the portfolio code (for example PF000123) to enable the button. Add a reason if you like; it is kept.
  5. Click the button. The portfolio is now empty and ready for a fresh upload.

What stays and what goes

  • Taken out: trades, income and F&O trades. Applied corporate actions go back to pending, so they are offered again after the new upload. Pending approval requests are cancelled.
  • Kept: the portfolio, its family, its login, its custom scrips and its Funds in / out entries.
  • Nothing is deleted outright: rows are switched off and tagged, which is what makes undo possible.

Undo

Undo last reset is shown while the portfolio is still empty and brings everything back as it was. Once a new trade or income entry is saved, undo is no longer possible. Cancelled approval requests stay cancelled.

Every reset is recorded with who did it, when, the counts and the reason.
