Holdings dashboard
The holdings dashboard is on every portfolio page and family page. It shows what is held today, what it cost and what it is worth, worked out from the trades with the latest prices. It loads a moment after the page opens.
Tiles at the top
| Current value | Quantity held × latest price, for everything held. |
| Amount invested | Purchase cost of what is still held (first in, first out). |
| Today's gain | Change since the previous day's closing price, in rupees and %. |
| Unrealised gain | Current value minus amount invested, in rupees and %. |
| Holdings | How many different scrips are held. |
Tabs and columns
Tabs split the holdings by asset class: All, Stocks & ETFs, Mutual funds (equity), Mutual funds (debt), Bonds and F&O open positions. Only the classes the portfolio has are shown, each with its count.
| Column | Shows |
|---|---|
| Asset | Name and symbol |
| Qty. / Avg. pur. price | Quantity held and average purchase price |
| Amt. invested | Cost of the quantity held |
| Current price | Latest closing price, with the previous close under it |
| Today's gain | Rupees and % |
| Unrealised gain | Rupees and % |
| Current value | With its share of the total |
Each asset class has a grey total row, and there is a grand total at the bottom.
What you can do
- Click + on a scrip to see its purchase lots: bought on, quantity, price, invested, current value, gain, and how long it has been held with LT (long term) or ST (short term). On the family page each lot shows whose portfolio it is in.
- Open all lots opens every scrip at once.
- Search assets by name, symbol or ISIN.
- Click a column heading to sort, within each asset class.
Good to know
- A scrip shows at cost, with a note under the table
- No closing price is available for it yet. Prices are loaded every evening from NSE and BSE; unlisted holdings get their value from Custom scrips.
- F&O positions aren't in the totals
- They are listed with notional value, last price and mark-to-market, but left out of the totals, as in the reports.
- A quantity looks wrong
- Check for a bonus or split not yet applied (Corporate actions), a missing opening holding, or a sale larger than the holding (shown under "Check these" on the Trades page).
