Families
A family groups the portfolios of people whose investments you look at together, such as a husband, wife, parent and an HUF. Firms create families; a Family Head sees only their own.
The families list
Shows each family with its code (FG…), how many portfolios it has out of its limit, whether it has a Family Head login, and its status. Click a family to open it. Export downloads the list. The Portfolios page also shows every family, opened to its members.
Add a family
- Click Add family and type the family's name. Names must be different within your firm.
- Keep Also create the first portfolio ticked and fill in the first person's portfolio: holder, PAN, broker, client code, demat, email, mobile and date of birth. The date of birth and PAN are used to open password-protected contract notes, so enter them correctly.
- Tick Create a Family Head login only if the client should sign in and see the whole family.
- Save.
The family page
- Portfolios: every portfolio in the family. Click one to open its page.
- Add portfolio: a new portfolio for another member.
- Add an existing portfolio: show a portfolio that already belongs to another family of your firm here too. It uses a slot in each family but counts once against your firm's total.
- Family Head login: add one later if you didn't when creating the family.
- Family holdings: the holdings dashboard for all portfolios together, with each lot showing whose portfolio it is in.

- A client with three accounts

- "Portfolio limit reached"
